Great Life Work Balance. Little Professional Growth - Assistant Chief Counsel US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Employee Review

Pros

Work-Life Balance. Good environment for an extrovert who is curious about the world. Colleagues don't take themselves too seriously and are willing to help each other. Everyone comes to the agency with their eyes open. One-Two week details to other offices are fun low stakes funded work trips.

Cons

Being part of an ineffective and politically controversial agency and wondering if you are squandering your talents.... probably. Constant shift from D.C. on how to prioritize cases. With 8 - 12 million undocumented non-citizens in the U.S. and a backlog of 2 million cases, your impact can feel pointless.
