Its work with good benefits, but you end up living the navy more than you live your life. - Network Tech US Navy Employee Review

Pros

I was proud to serve my country, and I got to see many different countries that I would not have normally been able to see. The benefits were good.

Cons

I did not like how much time I spent on the ship. I was generally in a 3 to 5 section duty rotation which means that even while we were at home port, I would have to spend every 3rd or 5th day on the ship for at least 24 hours. Including being underway, I averaged being on the ship at least 80 hours per week.

Pros

Good benefits for yourself and your family. Medical, dental, education, housing, VA, etc.

Cons

Some good leaders, many bad ones which make work unbearable at times even if the job isn't bad.
