Pros

You will learn a lot working at Ulta. The customers and everyone on the team work so that everyone is knowledgable about all products and brands. It's all inclusive and you have many opportunities to grow within the company.

Cons

It's easy to become drained, even though you're part of a team being a lead cashier is a lot of work. You have to deal with almost every customer that comes in and some of them can be disrespectful. Being a lead you do most of the same things every day, it becomes mundane. There's not a lot of opportunity to receive benefits. The only people who can be full time are managers and boutique managers. There's no guaranteed hours and therefore pay. And we only got one bonus in my 2 years of working there. I also often felt like I could have no personal life as I would be on my feet all day, dealing with ignorant customers and I would be scheduled odd hours. So when I came home I had no energy to engage with friends, go to the gym, eat out, etc.

Pros

Gratis There are good hard working people that want to do well. I am still there (barely) because I haven’t completely given up that things will be handled/addressed correctly for those not aligned with company vision and expectations. However after 5 years of inaction it’s hard to believe that positive change will actually and maybe just maybe Myself and others that are dedicatedI will be recognized vs taken for granted.

Cons

No furthering development Keep toxic (leaders especially) allowing unacceptable behavior conduct and violation of company code Communication is very poor…it’s inconsistent,For example managers are not provided with direct email accounts so it’s a community email box. This causes a large amount of information to be read by the wrong audience and is not communicated if read by the wrong leader
