Pros

Student success is a priority at UMA! We have several teams committed to making sure student can be successful in their classes and beyond graduation. Employee retention and satisfaction is important. We have an onsite deli, zumba/yoga classes, community service projects, family fun day, team outings, spirit days/weeks, and intramural sports. Awesome career progression plan for folks who meet basic employment standards.

Cons

UMA continues to grow and we're running out of space in our building. If you work from 9 - 6 then getting in/out of the parking garage can be a nightmare.

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
