Pros

The hourly salary is better than most

Cons

The corporate culture of intense competition lends itself to unethical behavior, eg. stealing leads, changing applications, granting favors to certain employees, while depriving others of success, guidance, and the tools needed to "hit budget". Most advisors are in daily fear that they will lose their jobs on a consistent basis, while others are recognized for achievements that they did not earn.

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
