Pros
Seasonal employees are a pleasure to work with. Speaking to different customers from all over the country is actually very interesting as UG has a large cross section of customers from all walks of life so you end up speaking to many different types of people. The products are unique and different so there are always new as well as exciting things to buy. The CEO seems to try and center the company around being a force for good and making a difference which are truly inspiring philosophies.
Cons
While my fellow CS seasonal team was nice to work with as well as most of the CS year round staff, it is hard to say the same for the CS management team. They were abrasive and condescending to various members of the CS team (yr round and seasonal) at times, in addition to being rather cliquish. The professionalism was truly lacking and it emanated from CS management down which reflected in a lack of appreciation or regard for the customer service representatives and quality assurance team. A paucity of team morale was certainly reinforced by petty/childish behavior from the CS management team. It is important to care about customers but one would assume that such an adage would apply to employees too. I often wondered if there was an awareness from company management regarding the dysfunction within the CS department or an unawareness due to an overly idealistic perspective.
