The organization lacks diversity. There are very few people of color working at the organization and much of the organization is made up of the same type of people – young/middle age white women. There is a stark difference between the makeup of the organization and the population it serves. While Uncommon’s work is very important, its lack of diversity keeps it from fully addressing its mission. The organization does not have a clear career ladder. The path for promotion and professional development is very unclear to most of Uncommon’s hires.
