Pros
People know that this job is ridiculous so if you do well, you can make the jump anywhere. Thanks for the sales awards I guess. My direct manager was pretty cool and great to learn sales from.
Cons
Everything. The culture sucked with the various parts of the company seeming unable to work with each other. The Quota is unrealistic with a pathetic amount of reps able to hit it. Whenever the issue is brought up, it’s an attitude of it’s the reps fault. The service we provided was laughable. 0 communication about crucial things, we didn’t learn about a supply chain issue with one of our markets most popular products until 4 months into it. Lost customers because of that. Definitely a culture of incompetence in regards to promotions. My GM was basically absent from his job 70% of the time with his idea of effective management being to slash the budget of every department. At least you made your bonus. Could have done without the threats. Easily one of the worst paying sales jobs, but they will lie to you about what other people are making. For perspective in 1 year we turned 15 sales reps and 2 sales managers. Fully staffed is 10 reps and 2 managers. So just over 150% turnover, up from the average 50% pre COVID.
