Pros

Some of the people at the office are great people and fun to work with. Pay is pretty good and free clothes are a plus.

Cons

Where do I start...They do not stick to the price increase they tell you. Above that they only give you good customer service if you run a certain dollar amount a week. We can't sell all the products in the catalog or even give customers certain color dispensers if they are not above a certain dollar amount. Management at the location tells you one thing and does another. We can't sell our preferred vendor relationships unless they run a certain dollar amount. Basically they only care about customers that are above about $75 a week.

Thanks for speaking up. Year ONE in any new B2B Sales career opportunity can be quite frustrating - you’re certainly not alone in that as everyone goes through it. In any new Sales gig, the learning curve is steep and somewhere along the line comes the WALL; usually in the 6 to 12 month tenure mark. In some leadership circles it’s called the “Disillusioned Learner”. During this period everything seems impossible, dark, foreboding, and above all things confusing and frustrating. Since you’re still with us - and we’re glad that you are - we encourage you to hang in there and focus on these things: 1) Prospect like a maniac; nothing brings more sense of relief and accomplishment than a calendar full of ripe Appointments. 2) Speak frequently with your fellow Salespeople and Sales and Location Managers to learn more and more about the ins and outs and nuts ‘n bolts of all our product lines and which are especially supported by your Location. 3) When matching up your Prospects with our program solutions, focus on the things you can and do control, not those that you can’t. We sincerely hope you stick it out, bust thru that wall and continue your journey in your UniFirst Sales Career.

Pros

Upper management genuinely cares about their team, and the hiring process is simple and straightforward. Base pay and the monthly stipend are both fair, and I appreciate the company's structure — questions get answered quickly, and you have dedicated team member support. I also like that the role is self-managing, with CDR handling pricing and deal structuring so you can focus on your own performance. Overall, this company really takes care of its employees.

Cons

The pay structure for this role is a bit unique — after a sale closes, the CDR earns commission for the first few months, and then commission transitions over to the drive team. It's certainly not a deal-breaker, just an observation, and I'm not knocking the company for it. All in all, I had a wonderful experience at UniFirst.
