- Only diverse at a lower level. However, if your definition of diversity is by nationality, then Unilever is one of most diverse company in the world. - Too many ineffective meetings. Some managers are held up in meetings 7-8 hours a day. Not sure if they are getting anything done. - Many departments running by group of people from Latin America. They are all buddies from their country and share manager/director positions among themselves. e.g. In one department, many managerial positions are taken by Argentinians because their leader (global director) is from Argentina. Some of these managers are clueless and/or over power-trip. Some managers stays home at least 3 times a week or 'away' for more than 3 hours daily; and give their responsibilities to their analysts or even to interns. - Very bureaucratic. Impossible to move up unless your are very close with people, one/two levels above you - Many young (mid 20s) managers. Not saying they are bad but it is true they are somewhat inexperienced. - Constant reorgs. Getting rid of positions force turnovers because limited managerial or directorial positions are shared by Latin Americans or SCMP. Existing experienced Americans have less opportunities to move up. - Increasing turnover in Supply Chain and Procurement. This is driving current employees crazy because they are very slow to fill in positions and/or eliminates the position when it becomes vacant. - Doubling the business by 2010 but with half of people is leading to 2-4 times of workloads to current employees. I've seen many people not happy and eventually leave the company.
