Pros

Very Independent work. Minimal time spent in the office or under supervision. Colleagues and office staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cons

Little to no opportunity for advancement within the company. Poor training programs for new hires. Pay structure does not motivate to "sell more", as employees are not paid on commission. This payment structure allows for both a fluctuating monthly income, as well as smaller "bonus" pay, even when more product is sold. Bonuses are earned monthly, however bonus income is not actually a "bonus", but a part of your salary. i.e, it is not possible to live solely off the bi-weekly pay. Little to no gas or car allowance paid, and if it is awarded, it is also counted as a part of your overall salary. Must use personal car for work. There is a distinct difference between those who are "insiders" and "outsiders".

Pros

-I made a lot of friends that were like family

Cons

I have contemplated writing this over 3 months since I left this company. When I first started here it was truly a family business. The CEO was much more hands on and everyone felt valued and morale was high. Over the years they have become more and more corporate America. Constantly hiring people and giving them tittles and newly created positions. Most of them don’t pan out and leave but they created a monster in the process. Two high powered attorneys run the main office now even though they have zero experience out in the field. I watched it change from a place I wanted to retire from to a place I couldn’t wait to leave. Their chain wine division is run like the military. They want you shoving product down customers throats. The managers would force us to ship cases for the next week and bill them for that month without approval from store managers. Long as it got in the back door nobody cared. It wasn’t about relationships with customers it was all about cases and dollars. The delivery department is in shambles. They don’t have enough staff to support all the delivery demand. The management team does everything they can but they don’t have support. They are so short staffed that the management team is out on trucks delivering every day because they aren’t allowed to hire more personnel. I’m convinced that the owners don’t know the real truth about what is going on. The family are good people but I think management covers the truth. I really hope things change because this use to be a great place to work.
