Pros

Great floor staff on adult units Good EDO people who do their best with tough customers One good supervisor who works on nights, and the rest don't know how to do the nurse's job and therefore can't help when intakes are out the door. Some that do are more focused on their school work.

Cons

Focused on exploiting insurances PET team writes weak holds to get pt in to the hospital and out of the neighboring ERs Cronyism amongst pediatric staff and management. Some good psychologists that do care Most Groups run by student psychologists New nurses are feed to the wolves with limited support by management, no real preceptorship training or program. Paper charting and instructed to chart to the negative on patients. Too many intakes with consideration to staff capacity to maintain unit safety. Use cameras to write people up Management of three units is weak and focused on passing inspections Some Medications not available due to costs and patients told to bring their own. One seclusion room and highly volatile unit. Staff too young to have bigger picture sensibilities Loads of inappropriate relations with management of units and staff and amongst staff Extending holds to generate $, knowing that they can't get a hearing scheduled over the weekend, meaning they have to stay at least a few extra days on top of the hold they're written on.

Pros

Overtime, Overtime, Overtime, Overtime, Overtime

Cons

Staffing turn around sucks because they can’t keep a certified nursing officer and the one they hired is on a high horse, favors staff and fires those he doesn’t favor when an opportunity arises. The dayshift supervisors also have favoritism and certain dayshift staff gets treated like gold and whatever they want compared to other shifts. Nursing management takes vacations to get away from admin and the CNOs wrath. And to top it off they fire staff for dumb reasons like asking to work a different unit for a break or having staff react to trauma of being assaulted by a patient. Staff gets abused here and admin doesn’t do a damn thing to correct the issue other then let staff go.
