Pros

Well-organized management with appropriate incentives for high performances in every area of expertise in providing excellent care of patients with timely responses to doctors and surgeons need of laboratory results. Benefits are excellent in health insurance, 457b retirement plan, vacation and sick leave benefits are tops, and excellent shift differentials.

Cons

There are a few downsides: hard working hours with a lean staff. Plenty of overtime hours, but no overtime pay differential for professional salaried employees. We understand this in order to keep expenses low as possible. Otherwise, we still have the best paying hospital in town with the best healthcare system in town. Really enjoyed my work here. Recommend any who get the chance to work here.

Pros

Good benefits, consistent hours and work, holiday pay. Great co-workers but the leads were more approachable than upper management.

Cons

It's a lot of who you know and not what you know. There is a lot of hand waving with any issues you bring up and management may target you for any small reason. Beware of Management, they can go on a power trip. One or more members of upper management can block progress if you ever plan on moving out of the department. Pay is behind the times and your reviews will never match your output. Manager is not approachable but wants you to go to them before you tell anyone else. If you see something, you're better off either not saying anything or reporting it anonymously. Very political, lots of favoritism.
