Pros
The hourly wage is good You are not micromanaged Good option for unlicensed teachers
Cons
Don't work here if you're looking for consistent, reliable work. Your work stability is entirely dependent on University Instructor's ability to maintain their contract with the school district. Twice this year, their failure to meet that contract has resulted in a very short notice, unpaid work halt. First time it happened, I recieved an email while tutoring that said to leave the school then and there. We were unable to return for almost a month---a month of not being paid while they renegotiated their contract. This is on top of very poor communication and continuous mid-year changes in policy and expected work practices. Not to mention incredibly redundant and tedious record keeping that eats up all of your prep time.
