C-Suite Leadership - Obsession with hierarchy. Unless the VP has signed off on it, it's not going to happen. - "If you don't like it, then leave" mentality creates a constant Culture of Fear, that HR supports and refuses to address (despite annual employee engagement surveys echoing these sentiments) - One man controls the entire organization and he is not the CEO - Bait and Switches. Most commonly seen with promises made to physicians and then once 'buy-in' is achieved, the plans change. This leaves physicians feeling duped and lower level management having to clean up the mess. - Physicians who have been with the organization forever, have several "gentleman's agreements" funneling $$$ into their wallets, while everyone else is given peanuts seen in the form of a 1-5% raise annually. 5% are never given because no one can possibly be exceptional and if they are HR makes it impossible requiring multi VP approval?! Daily Work - Never ending list of high priority projects (like throwing pasta against a wall) - The goals are constantly changing, and as a result the environment is chaotic. - Employees who have been there for 15+ years reject all forms of change, yielding a constant struggle between the new and the old - Poor communication, poorly handled layoffs, and an affinity for the "at will" clause of employment.
