Pros

Initially during my employment tenure VHC offered great scheduling flexibility and offered over-time pay for weekend work. Gradually these pro's disappeared. The people that I worked with was an amazing group of caring and supportive teammates. Benefits and sick time at this hospital are also great. Also accessing doctors on campus was very convenient for your own care

Cons

Pay at this hospital was about 10,000 less than the competitor INOVA for the same position. I was not able to park on campus which added 10-15 minutes to my commute time, and made me feel generally undervalued as an employee. The relationship between nurse management staff and rehab was often tense. Ultimately I left my position because there were changes made in the rehab management staff and I found the new director to be unpredictable, this was stressful for me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed our team and benefits package. I am saddened however to hear that you did not feel supported in your position. We do conduct regular salary reviews to ensure we are competitive in our area. With regards to parking, you may be aware that our campus expansion project was recently approved by Arlington County, which will allow for additional parking and a new Outpatient Pavilion. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns in greater detail. I can be reached directly at VHCexperience@virginiahospitalcenter.com. Thank you for your time with us at VHC and for your service to our patients and team. -- Grace Greenan, AVP, People and Experience.

Pros

Supportive leadership that genuinely cares about employees. Management encourages professional development, trusts employees to do their jobs, and promotes a collaborative environment. I've been given opportunities to attend industry conferences, continue learning, and contribute meaningfully. The work is interesting and varied, and I've felt respected and appreciated.

Cons

Workloads can be heavy at times. Priorities can shift quickly, so flexibility and organization are important.
