Pros

Starting salaries are competitive; Hospice care is a worthwhile mission in and of itself; Growth opportunities (mostly due to high turnover rates though) Local program staff are great people who care about their patients and their coworkers.

Cons

Corporate culture that shows little respect for the program level employees as a resource that drives the corporation's success; Corporate culture that does not value their employees; Poor work - life balance; Micromanagement of staff and a very "Big Brother" type of oversight; Top heavy corporate culture that relies too heavily on process; Unbelievably poor benefits package - only one plan that is high deductible, high cost; Low mileage reimbursement rate; Constantly understaffed due to high turnover rates, which means existing staff is expected to do the work of 2 - 3 people (most of the time); Frequent salary hike freezes; Employees are expected to work weekends and holidays; Corporate culture that does not trust its own employees to make decisions for themselves; Large, sluggish corporate administration that is slow to make decisions to urgent, local program market dynamics. Cost cutting culture has supplanted the patient-centric care model.

Pros

Very friendly and helpful colleagues. I came to this company with very little experience and all of my colleagues helped and educated me with all things hospice care. I got promoted 4 months after being hired as a clerk into a secretary job. Best job I've ever have.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

Great organization structure. significant opportunity to growth for lateral and/or vertical transition. Great compensation for all disciplines if done right, a great work life balance

Cons

Initial hiring, orientation is relatively slow may be even boring process. organization values people too much and believes in helping growth of individual so much so that some time slackers are able to survive longer then they should. which can cause loss of motivation for highly driven team members. the way I would survive if I am motivated for the cause is do what is right for you and your patients, apart from that just wait for the right time. Biggest pain point is EMR. this organization is slow to the game but the organization is building and perfecting home built EMR product to have maximum flexibility. currently going through growing pains.
