Small Perks, Lacks Competitiveness, DEI Madness - Systems Engineer VTG Employee Review

Pros

Some nice benefits are available like education assistance up to $2500/yr and a $240/yr gym membership reimbursement, but neither of those will get you much, and they certainly don't make up for the downsides.

Cons

Annual raises due to inflation are insufficient. Getting a raise based on performance or increased responsibility is like pulling teeth. No stock, profit sharing, or bonuses. The company is completely bought in on DEI initiatives. CEO has denigrated employees at annual all hands; "There's a lot of white men in here and that's a problem."

Pros

Good program managers, fulfilling work, food at HQ if you ever visit.

Cons

Pay isnt competitive for the field. VTG is more engineering heavy, so analyst and admin roles arent treated as seriously when it comes to salary. No real upward movement for on-site employees, you are assigned you government billet and don't get any promotions to level 2, level 3, etc. PTO and other benefits are average for defense contractors in the area.
