Vangst was once a thriving, fun company full of dedicated cannabis experts. With the addition of a new product and a new leader, this has since disintegrated. Most legacy employees quit or were laid off - many of them replaced with contractors from said leaders posse. The company's focus has shifted from cannabis to tech, which would normally be fine if the cannabis part of the business was still embraced. There are no longer internal champions fighting to preserve this. Vangst has now built an identity that is completely transparent with very little knowledge or expertise of cannabis. Their values have been manufactured and are now nothing but empty words.
Vangst is also quick to lay off at the slightest hiccup. There have been at least three MAJOR layoffs that have affected the company greatly. It's surprising to see this in a company with a strong c-suite, including a CFO. It seems like poor financial planning if you have to ditch your staff every time things get a little tight. You'll never be able to build a company that employees want to work at long term until this is rectified.
