Pros

The people you work with (not managers) will be fantastic. Great PTO (you'll need it) and 10% match on your 401k.

Cons

I have been working here for almost a year and I have never been so miserable in my entire life. When I saw the posting for this position I was fresh out of college and excited to start my career on finance (what I studied), but after training I learned really quickly that this was about 20% finance and 80% customer service. The 20% is generous. If I knew half my day would be changing passwords and telling people they filled their forms wrong then I would not have taken the job. If you are lucky you will have an okay manager. If you are like me and was placed with a micro-manager then good luck! All they care about are METRICS METRICS METRICS! Heaven forbid you don't sell the personal advice services to an overwhelming number of clients. They call selling "positioning" to throw you off, but don't be fooled you are selling! To be honest unless you are on the talent list, you are just a warm body. Management doesn't care about you. Let's not forget everything you do is timed. You get 30 minutes of break and trust me when I tell you it is not enough. Oh and one last thing! Your compensation is one of the lowest in the industry. I feel bad for people in Philadelphia (where the cost of living is higher) that get paid the same as the people in Charlotte. I do not know how they even survive. When I wake up every morning I pray that I have a stomach flu so I can have a few days off the phone. Do not interview. Do not take this position. Do not make the same mistakes I made. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
