Pros

Vanguard has large fund flow into it mutual funds and ETF. They have a great but fading reputation with clients. They created the no load index fund. They do have pretty good benefits and 4 week time off for most. This includes sick day.

Cons

Vanguard is highly regimented. You will have little autonomy at work. Don't expect to be trusted or empowered. It is a highly centralized management. All decisions are made at the top and as bad as some of them are they are to be followed the the letter. They have poor operational strategy and execution. They are currently the industry leader so they can afford poor operation however there is a tipping point that may push them over. They have many rules and procedures that make no sense. It is a good place to start, put on your resume and move on. It is very difficult to move up at Vanguard
