Pros

-Benefits for 401k are good if you have a long career at Vanguard, vesting is like 6 years so you get very little if you stay for less than that -People at Vanguard are nice

Cons

-Call Center, Calls are often back to back with limited time off the phone, lunches are constantly cut to 30 minutes to keep clients happy -Management thinks that bringing in new crew will solve all their problems while spending no effort on actually retaining crew so they lose crew as fast as they bring them in -Little focus on your personal development, they will discuss opportunities but they are the last priority - Software and Policy Limitations leave front line crew to get screamed at by irrational clients for something front line crew can do nothing about -Managers and management roles seemed to be picked purely through networking rather than business results/potential, they will make you stick it out several years in the call center for most people before you are even considered to apply to another role

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
