Pros

Good amount of PTO. 18 days a year plus you can buy an additional week. Health insurance does include some infertility coverage

Cons

-Extremely hard to get holiday time off (due to “bid PTO days”). -There’s a bunch of kiss ups who’ll do anything to move up the corporate ladder. -Mid-level managers not properly trained. Had multiple and they never knew how to address my questions or problems I was handling. -Low pay. -High workload. Especially in Mass Affluent/Voyager space where they just treat you like a sweatshop and keep piling work on because it’s a shared “team model.” -They give same advice to all clients no matter their circumstances. Not very personalized to the client. State that they due holistic financial planning but it’s only investment management (by putting all clients into the same 4 index funds). -Technology systems are a pain. So outdated and old that is always crashing and having issues and causes problems for many clients every month. Always a headache. -Vanguard stubborn to make any changes because “that’s how it’s always been done.” -No way to ever get your feedback truly heard from leadership. Crew barometer always overlooked at in team huddles, or everyone was too nervous to speak up. -Misleading “work life balance”. Most work more than their “37.5 hours” a week due to how much work they will pile on you. -Lack of unity and communication amongst departments. Each department has their one thing they focus on, and they don’t know how to work well with other departments. Everyone is put into “boxes” and those boxes can never cross lines. -Extremely long wait times for when clients call in. Sometimes clients have to wait 2-3 hours till a rep answers. -False pride from senior leadership constantly boasting about how great things are when really everyone is stressed and burned out with little pay. -They know they can easily replace you at any moment and just hire more dumb college students. -Extrmely metric heavy in monitoring your performance. Feels like they are constantly breathing down your neck (I.e. How many calls are you taking, what’s your average talk time, average hold time, etc. they track you down to the second). -Simply stuck in their ways.
