Pros

- Many Pros if you used to work at Syniverse. - Great potential for a SaaS business serving everyday heroes like Safety Professionals, Fire / EMS, educators, etc. Public Sector and Education Business Units seem to have good, ethical leaders on a path to help those businesses realize their potential. - They almost never terminate anyone, no matter what. - Culture committees, endless free snacks, freestyle coke machine, etc.

Cons

- Double edge sword for a SaaS business is you can make pretty good returns with a high degree of dysfunction, but that takes a toll on employees every day. Dysfunction is addressed with endless platitudes from leaders such as, "assume best intent," which should be the company tag line. Much easier than actually improving. - Private Equity backed and in it to flip it as other reviews have stated. The focus is growth through acquisitions and integrating them as fast as possible, so nothing is done with excellence and organic growth is nowhere near what it could be. - Commercial Business Unit Leadership: Don't really have words, never seen anything like it. Zero substance. Proceed with extreme caution. - Desperate for acquisitions to make up for customers walking out the door on a regular basis. - Actual leadership and work is left to a handful of dedicated employees who prop up the whole house of cards and have to help with integrating acquisitions in addition to their day jobs.

Pros

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Cons

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry this has been your experience, and we take comments like this seriously. Vector is a mission-driven company serving customers in critical industries, including public safety, education, industrial, government, healthcare, and other organizations that rely on our technology to help make people safer, smarter, and better prepared. We are proud of that work and of the team members who support it every day. Vector has implemented many positive changes over the years based directly on team member feedback, and we continue to welcome input across all areas of the business. We recognize that benefits, career growth, priorities, and culture can be experienced differently by different people. We do offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health coverage, 401k support, flexible paid time off, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and other resources; Growth Pathways to help team members understand career progression; and companywide initiatives such as Team Member Appreciation Week, Vector Volunteer Week, holiday events, and special commemorations to help build connection and culture. We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
