Pros

A sales consultant has the potential to make decent money, you work from home, and are able to work independently.

Cons

You will be on an island. There is little to no training and they make you memorize a "sales pitch" that is so poorly written with grammatical and spelling errors. Out of 8 people I was hired with, only one is left there. Poor and little communication, there is no team to be a part of, your manager will only step in when you are about to close a deal on a very complex agreement. Most of the leads they schedule for you are unqualified and crap and very far away. Oh, and since I left, I do not get the commission I earned. Hard to get the crappy reimbursement too (that I had to figure out on my own). When you have questions, it takes a long time to get answers or ahold of your manager.

Pros

No pros to list here.

Cons

The worst company to work for, extremely high turnover due to incompetent management and owners of the company. They have products they want you to sell that aren’t even launched, then get confused when deals fall apart. They want “yes men” to work for them, any individuality is reprimanded. They encourage you to do anything to get the deal done, even if that means drinking alcohol or smoking with customers. Safety is not a priority for them even slightly. In their words, whatever it takes to get it done. Bizarre place to work.
