Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the pandemic has significantly impacted the stability of schedules for VBA and our industry as a whole. With most schools only offering limited support at very specific times, this has significantly impacted VBA's ability to provide a cohesive full time schedule. In addition, COVID exposures have resulted in more frequent cancellations which we know also impacted schedules. Despite these global challenges, VBA’s management has remained committed to supporting staff often by paying for supplemental hours that may not even have been worked. We realize despite all of our efforts, this past year has still been challenging. However, the future is looking much brighter as the majority of schools have begun returning to more traditional schedules and we anticipate schedules in the fall will look like they did prior to the pandemic. We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Pros

This company truly supports it's workforce. They take care of them with great benefits, a caring management team, and competitive pay. They treat you with respect as a person and understand when life comes at you. Asking for time off is easy, I had never been denied time off. They never try to make you feel bad for missing work, instead offering generous incentives just for doing your job. The support system at VBA is such that if you do right by them by communicating in a timely manner, and telling the truth, they will do right by you. VBA works in schools giving you the option to take your vacation during school vacations and your weekends free. If you want, you can pile on the hours, but only if you want. If you love working with kids, working for a company who supports you and working favorable hours, don't pass up this opportunity. You won't find a company like VBA anywhere else.

Cons

The job is difficult. If you are someone who likes a challenge, this will be a big challenge. The job is intense. If you communicate to your superiors if you are struggling, they will help. This job is intimidating at first. You will be working with a unique group of individuals. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you can get through all that, the job is intrinsically and extrinsically rewarding. Ultimately making the decision to leave as I have done is the hardest part of it all.
