Pros

Verily had the funding, talent, and support from Google to make a real difference for billions of people.

Cons

10 years later, it feels like Verily has squandered the opportunity to serve even thousands of people, in a revolving door of egos with increasingly impossible ambitions. Total compensation and benefits have been deeply reduced, leaving a deeply disengaged workforce of people who are looking for other jobs. Verily surprisingly lacks a purpose-driven culture and I can't say with any clarity how our mission connects to most roles or products.

Pros

Most of the team was very smart, and much of the work was very interesting.

Cons

Chaotic team structure, lots of red tape, confusing project ownership, too many overlapping people on some projects, while not enough for others.
