Pros
Fantastic learning opportunity, especially if you are willing to step up and put in extra effort. Key roles in niche industries allow for valuable subject matter expertise, both in regards to information and technical skills.
Cons
Compensation is pretty sad both in terms of overall salary, annual raises, and bonuses. Teams at Verisk support multi-million dollar accounts, work many hours above and beyond each week, and are still well under-paid in comparison to the clients we support on a daily basis. Talent has been leaving Verisk at a high rate and this is not being acknowledged. As a manager, it was difficult to navigate conversations with employees when it feels like only a few key decision makers have any wiggle room in terms of benefits or flexibility. Verisk has also been inflexible with returning to COVID, requiring multiple days in the office without much leniency while other companies in the industry have allowed fully remote positions. An exodus of tenured, knowledgeable staff and lack of compensation transparency will continue to hurt Verisk until they make significant changes.
