Pros
Good salary and benefits. Depending on what you do, you can work remotely 2-3 days a week.
Cons
Let me start off by stating that I'm not a disgruntled ex employee. I had a good a 19 year career at Verizon and the fact that it's over allowed me to realize how much better life could be not employed there. 1. They're constantly looking for ways to cut US jobs and move them offshore, which is eventually what got me laid off. They didn't even have the decency to do it in person. Just got a call from my manager... and after 19 years, my career was suddenly over. 2. I was never felt upper management was being honest. They would simply tell you what you wanted to hear. 3. I worked there for 18 years and management was always disorganized. They'd have you go all in to get something done ASAP then before it's finished they'd change direction. They'd always promise changes, and it would happen for a short while, but eventually it would slide right back to the way things were. VERY political. Just doing a great job is not enough.
