Directory Assistance Union job CWA-Communication Workers of America. I worked there 12 years and have a pension waiting for me later. Pay was ok, after 12 years only topped out at $13.33/hr per union contract. Outstanding benefits at the time, Paid HEALTH insurance, vacation time starting first year, paid holidays, personal holidays, double time if you worked holidays. Time and a half on Sundays.

Shifts and vacation choice based on seniority, after 12 years I never got the shift or vacation weeks I wanted so I just had to settle. I only quit, this fantastic job, because of MICRO-MANAGEMENT. They would actually stand over us, nothing was ever good enough. Probably because they were struggling to keep contracts so they pushed up to be "perfect" which a human being can not be just by the fact they are human and make mistakes.
