Pros

Provided lunch and overall benefits package Product fit within the market.

Cons

Verkada has unfortunately gotten to the point where politics are a huge part of your success. Especially in offices outside of San Mateo, all of which struggle to hit quota. Austin office is the only dog friendly location for whatever reason. Management there is way over their head trying to get reps up and running. SLC has an insanely high turnover rate not to mention it’s a total “boys club”. All the guys who moved from California live together and ultimately get preferential treatment on things like promotion, etc. Tampa and Tempe are just getting started so it’s early to tell their fate. Unless you are on the enterprise sales team there is no remote flexibility either. Overall-huge issues with promising too many people the same management positions which is where the politics comes in. This ultimately leads to a huge resignation at the end of each quarter, usually from tenured reps who are consistently hitting quota which hurts the business going forward. If you join as a rep you are basically gambling on whether upper management will grow to like you fast enough to get promoted before you inevitably burn out as an AE. Equity wise if you aren’t coming in at management level the opportunity to make “life changing” money off the IPO is non existent. This is all not mention all the pending legal problems whether it be the patent infringement lawsuit which leadership refuses to acknowledge or the various examples of the sales team breaking rules and essentially bribing superintendents/public officials to close deals. If you do a deep google search or look at an industry publication called IPVM it’s all documented pretty well. Overall the concept of ethics is rarely displayed here either internally with how they treat employees but also externally with customers and deal strategy.

Pros

Some of the people are kind, intelligent, and very thoughtful, which made the rest manageable when it unbearable Fancy perks: food, coffee bar

Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. Inexperienced leadership and middle management creates an air of stress, anxiety, and frustration across all areas of the workplace. People often snap at each other, burn out, and successes are rarely recognized or celebrated. There is no sense of team unity. I even witnessed a monkey being brought into the office to be posed for photos during an end of quarter celebration. There is little flexibility for people not being in-office due to family/outside issues. There are too many meetings with no clear organization or purpose, and messages/emails are often sent late into the night, on holidays, and on weekends. I wish someone had warned me not to work here before I started, it was some of the worst days of my life.
