Pros

There are a few pros. This role did teach me the importance of discipline and consistency in the work-place. The product is pretty good. You learn a lot about the industry. Lunch stipend at satellite offices is nice.

Cons

Okay. In simple terms, Verkada is a security company that is disguised as a tech company when you are interviewing. You hear buzz words like "big tech", or "equity", and "IPO". When college kids without any real work experience hear this, it sounds like a really promising opportunity and a cool company. But the reality for the AAE program, is that they view everyone in the program for the most part as disposable. I think people get caught off guard with the intensity after you go through onboarding (which is basically a sugar pill). I honestly think it would be better if there was some transparency in the interview process. "Hey, if you can't book 100 appointments with 50 of them being qualified buyers in 4 months. Along with passing product knowledge testouts every monday. You will probably be let go unless you are well liked in the office". There are worse jobs and worse companies. But if you are trying to build a career in tech, I think other SDR jobs are more suitable. There are so many reps now. Every territory has been hammered. I think it will continue to get harder and harder to get newer business just due to the rapid growth at which new people are brought in. AAE program in. 1 sentence: you are going through a 4 month tryout, where 60% (maybe more) of people who start the program quit or they are fired.

Pros

Some of the people are kind, intelligent, and very thoughtful, which made the rest manageable when it unbearable Fancy perks: food, coffee bar

Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. Inexperienced leadership and middle management creates an air of stress, anxiety, and frustration across all areas of the workplace. People often snap at each other, burn out, and successes are rarely recognized or celebrated. There is no sense of team unity. I even witnessed a monkey being brought into the office to be posed for photos during an end of quarter celebration. There is little flexibility for people not being in-office due to family/outside issues. There are too many meetings with no clear organization or purpose, and messages/emails are often sent late into the night, on holidays, and on weekends. I wish someone had warned me not to work here before I started, it was some of the worst days of my life.
