      Pros

      When Vertex paid full price fir Taxamo, there was laughter around the entire tech space. They bought the Dog. Vertex only supports SAP, and the 20-30 year fossils that are still working there use Blackberrys.

      Pros

      - Valuable to have a job in this market, and somewhere that historically pays a market rate - unlimited PTO for fulltime

      Cons

      - New CEO is something...concerning. Workforce reduction, replacing C-suite with former pals from previous companies, huge push on AI without the subsequent reassurance that our jobs won't be replaced. Seems like the goal is for all of us to train AI to do our jobs before getting let go. Really tone deaf when us little people have livlihoods on the line.
