Pros

The program manager role at Viaquest offered Flexible work hours, and working with the individuals can be very fulfilling.

Cons

The company culture was terrible. The staff receive very poor training and the hiring process is terrible. A DSP worker under me, told me that they had gotten the job without an interview. The company is a machine and treats the individuals it serves just as numbers. The upper management is only concerned with quantity of clients they have rather than the quality of care they provide. The turn over rate incredibly high even for an industry with already high turn turn over rates. This not only pertains to DSP workers but extends all the way up to the managers, and other high positioned employees. Lastly while the work hours are flexible, the work life balance is terrible as you have to work extensive hours in order to fulfill the job requirements.

Pros

Easy to get your foot in the door for almost any position. There were some really great coworkers who made it bearable

Cons

The culture is just terrible. Most people in the company are working significantly more than is healthy and are being underpaid/under appreciated. It’s almost impossible to get time off without feeling like you’re leaving extra work for coworkers and/or management is guilting you. Middle management passes down commands from higher ups without being willing to hear out their staff or advocate for them. There is a very clear disconnect between the DPSs, TBS Specialists, other field staff, and anyone working in management. Your manager makes or breaks your experience and upper management won’t reprimand or make changes when a bad manager chases staff away. High turnover makes it really difficult to feel connected to the community and it’s really easy to feel like your voice is not being heard. There are so many concerning stories about our clients that get passed around, and a lot of them get chalked up to “it’s the field”. I would never recommend anyone I know to work for this company or receive their services.
