Pros
There are good, bright people here. Decent benefits and perks (bonus, lunch and other food items provided). Tons of potential in the company overall. The CEO seems genuine one on one (see cons). Several people with real leadership potential. Financially solid.
Cons
Extremely poor culture. No trust of its employees from upper management and vice versa. Terrible true leadership (limited). Micro managing, and empire building at its finest. They have employee satisfaction surveys that are "anonymous"...do not believe this. CEO has tracked down people who said things he did not like. Most (not all) of Product Management has terrible middle management. They are clueless about teamwork or product vision setting. Extremely immature behavior by product middle management both in and out of the office. Very petty. Engineering area has major micro management issues from top leadership. Disagreement or communication with other departments or management without their prior knowledge is not advised. HR has good people in some areas but their key people have been blinded by the manipulation of other leaders. HR has had large turnover in short time due to poor leadership. Other departments have employees that treat others poorly constantly and are never dealt with. CEO seems unaware of the intensely negative impact that his department leaders (not all but some key ones) management style has on creating a culture of paranoia, apathy, and choking innovation. Countless hours are wasted justifying even the smallest purchases (depending on department). CEO seems more interested in cheap solutions than the right thing that is not as cheap.
