Pros
Inflated Salaries, free lunch, better than average benefits.
Cons
I worked for VGT for +8 years. When I started the place was privately held and it was a GREAT place to work. Say what you will about former owner, billionaire Jon Y but, he was honest and honorable - neither adjective applies to current owners Aristocrat. About the only thing you can believe at VGT is that you are probably being lied to. The technology model used is a revenue gold mine which is great for the company but, ancient and out of date. I was supporting SQL Server 2000 on Windows Server 2003 in 2014, how does that help me grow inside my field? Intra-department squabbles and power struggles limit opportunities to generate high quality work. It often times feel like a Roman senate and you wonder where the next knife is coming from.
