      Most TAs in Engineering departments of Virginia Tech do not need to give a lecture, mainly grade HWs and exams, and lead the discussion sessions

      Cons

      Because you do not have much experience in giving the lecture, you get less trained on teaching

      Pros

      The experience was great. The PI was amazing and kind and I learned a lot, definitely would do it again. It yielded great results for me such as publication. I recommend for medical school or graduate school.

      Cons

      Difficult to justify if you don’t plan to have a research career, graduate or professional school because the pay is lower than other positions available in Blacksburg.
