Pros

Visa remains a great company with strong values, talented people, and a respected brand. Unfortunately, the reputation of the CEMEA People function tells a very different story

Cons

At a recent HR industry event, I was surprised by how often the conversation turned to the CEMEA Head of HR. Multiple HR professionals from different organizations openly discussed her reputation in the market, the frustration within her team, and the apparent disconnect between Visa’s stated values and the leadership behaviors being tolerated. The recurring questions in the room were simple: How is this still happening? Why has nothing been done? The concerns raised were not about business performance. They were about poor leadership, lack of psychological safety, favoritism, exclusion, and a culture where speaking up is perceived as risky. Even more concerning is the perception that repeated complaints and investigations have not resulted in meaningful accountability. The saddest part is that this is no longer an internal issue. The reputation of the leader is increasingly becoming the reputation of the function

Pros

Great co-workers, some leaders with integrity from Al Kelly time, great benefits, 401k, what used to be great WLB.

Cons

-Incompetent CTO and leadership, specially at the Sr Dr/ VP level, moved from Msft in troves. -No focus on product/features delivery using AI, rather useless AI tools to track productivity (LOC and other laughable outdated metrics). -All Optics, no innovation, decades behind Fintechs like Stripe in innovation. -Extreme toxic culture and politics at leadership level.
