Pros
I love working with the elderly. I always engage them about their family and ask what they like. I want them to know I truly care and for them to always be comfortable. That's the best thing about the job, the clients. The flexibility is good.
Cons
Hired as Companion without anyone looking me in the eye. I have extensive experience for companion care. I was not given a Job Description & never know anything about clients when I went. Clts were unaware that a fill in was coming. Not matched correctly. Poor Communication. Hired without even being looked in the eye, given a packet and left. No idea how to get "work". Feel rushed & questions go umanswered. They ask you to 'omit' the fact you're not a CNA. Hired as Companion means you'll be doing CNA work even when you have no experience as a CNA.
