Pros

They once gave out free sandwiches

Cons

Upper management are scum. They do not care about their employees. The people in the office are all related somehow and it shows. They have no idea what they are doing. They will not call if your schedule changes. Every week you see them looking for employees on craigslist, why? Because they will find a way to fire you after a few years.they do not want to pay you more and will just cut your hours to force you out. If you ever want a good laugh stop by one of the visiting angles offices. The will be sitting around with the radio playing pretending to work. The place is a joke.

Visiting Angels Response

This "current employee" is mistaken on a number of points in their review. 1. We deeply care about our employees: Visiting Angels' Danvers location has countless employees who have worked for our agency for 5+ years. Some even opened with us a decade ago. We have always paid our staff more than competitively and take into account their needs as much as our own. ***Visiting Angels has spent the last 1.5 years implementing full benefits packages for our employees including Health, Dental, FSA, 401K, and PTO for our full time staff aides*** 2. We do call if your schedule changes BUT Visiting Angels has invested in a scheduling software that texts employees their following day's scheduling shifts. Also it is a company's policy that employees take a proactive initiative to their employment and review their schedules online regularly. Also, schedules are completed at least a week in advance. 3. It is never our goal to fire an employee...quite the opposite. We regularly invest our managements time in reducing employee turnover. 4. Sometimes the office staff does have music. 5. We are always posting on Craigslist because we are always hiring. Our location has been fortunate enough to have sustained steady success and we almost always have a need for qualified, compassionate and skilled TEAM PLAYERS.

Pros

My experience with Visiting Angels has been very good. The work is very fulfilling and there is a strong sense of community within this organization. We problem solve together and management is very supportive and helpful.

Cons

I have had a very positive experience here. I have worked in the home care industry within a few companies for a very long time and it’s hard work sometimes. What sets Visiting Angels apart is the commitment to its staff, clients and community. This has been especially evident during times of challenge within the industry as a whole such as Covid or unexpected weather events.

Pros

Fairly flexible schedule, not much micromanaging.

Cons

Pay keeps changing and not for the better. I started out as salary, then it changed to per visit, plus a small per hour wage. Now, with the latest change, you don't get the per hour unless you have at least 3 visits a day. seems easy right? nope. Clients cancel the visit for whatever reason, or caregivers call in sick and you cannot do a visit unless the CG is there. It is difficult to get another client to agree to a last minute visit. We have lost clients or clients have had their hours for CG's cut due to government cuts to the VA. This makes having enough clients to see in order to make your weekly quota difficult. Insurance is very expensive and they encourage you to find your own outside of the company. PTO is earned at less than 3 hours a week. No sick time. You spend many nights per week making your schedule and then redoing it when a client cancels or a caregiver calls in. This is all non paid time.
