Pros

- Does textbook publishing well. Has kept ahead of much larger competitors through innovative instruction and design of printed materials. - Has niche in market cornered. Has seen growth year over year for many, many years. - Some leaders are real rockstar quality. Some leaders show a real focused attitude towards problem solving and person-to-person management.

Cons

- Across the organization people are adverse to change and are not flexible. New ideas are met with skepticism and shock. - Owner has not kept up with wider world of technological advancement or management. While company has been successful in its small niche, it is one technological disruption away from folding. - Recruitment strategy is non-existant. Teams grow in departments that are already large while others desperately need support. - Senior leadership often seems to be fighting each other leading to big decisions remaining left unmade until the last moment, meaning that those that work for them are left to pick up the slack.

Pros

Working in this company has been both challenging and rewarding. Not only do I continuously learn and grow, but I also get to contribute to making education more accessible and convenient—especially for students who lack the means to pursue formal schooling or live in remote areas. My work here feels purposeful, and I’m proud to be part of a team that leverages advanced technology to create a positive impact

Cons

Pros

There are plenty of benefits that employees actually enjoy. The commuter pass and parking program, weekly catered lunches, fitness reimbursement, and the training and other development opportunities.

Cons

The CEO and his management were so focused on making profits, forgetting about balance, the real vision, and company priorities. The current problems were blatantly ignored while taking advantage of employees, neglecting our well being, losing the work-life balanced we were promised! The outcome was overworked, stressed, and unhappy employees who felt frustrated at work which also affected performance in a terrible way! Instead of actually talking about the decline in performance and resolving the real problem, we were blamed for it and even pressured to perform better! If one would suggest decreasing our load, management would take that against you and accuse you of being incompetent! The CEO being obsessed with getting higher results, will immediately fire anyone who's underperforming and couldn't qualify their insane standards! Fear is the thing that drives people to keep on no matter how exhausting work gets from the continuous increase of workload, no matter how unreasonable it is. No one wants to get fired just like that, without any back up plan. The job is enjoyable, coworkers were great, and students were a joy to teach. It's just the leadership that makes this company terrible!
