Pros
- Very talented people throughout the company - Marquee video game in NBA 2K - Excellent teams working on WWE 2K - Different disciplines work very well together - HR is very helpful when needed - Take-Two benefits are very good - People really do care about gameplay in spite of fun-killing microtransactions
Cons
- Total lack of work-from-home consistency: For the exact same jobs, some are fully remote, some are required onsite, some hybrid. It makes absolutely no sense at all. - VC studios are bizarrely different: Some are 100% new and beautiful and almost completely empty, Others have some people there but are quite literally trash heaps with piles of furniture, broken chairs, and other garbage everywhere. Some studios don't have even have physical spaces. - Lack of headcount planning is so bad that they hired an entire studio and fired that studio pretty much within a year, after building a huge expensive space for the people they fired - VC's even harder swing towards microtransactions is SO hard that they destroyed a $70 game targeted at children (LEGO 2K Drive) by stuffing it full of microtransactions. This caused more significant layoffs (separate from those mentioned above). - Nobody from VC corporate supports culture in any way - There are very different standards for employees based on which studio they are in and who they know - Many, many rounds of layoffs - Games are being ruined - see advice to management below
