Pros

Pay is very good for retail, co-workers are terrific. Stores are clean and modern. Customers are 95% very nice to assist. Quality of products sold is great.

Cons

TESS - scheduling is awful, management won't work with you for time off for family needs. Get rid of TESS, bring back the humans. 3 hours shifts are terrible when you drive for 40 minutes one way to get to work. Working more closes than other associates is not fair, especially the Saturday night ones, after you have worked 3 during the week because being a part-time nights and weekends associate. What happened to being able to be at a "heroics" once a month rule for parttime? Dept managers promoted who shouldn't be promoted. Only allowing associates to move to another dept when it "works" for Von Maur, not the associate. Being watched by security all the time, retail theft is a problem, but come on not all associates are "thiefs".

Pros

Employee discount- 20%. Can't find anything else positive!

Cons

1.Schedule is all over the place 2. Have to do truck twice a week with 0 help and just 1 person per dept. 3. Worst benefits EVER, pto given out every quarter which makes it hard to plan any time off.. you get like 20hrs every quarter... 4. Not allowed to take any unpaid time off.. 5. You get points for being late 1 minute, yes 1 minute and you get an tardee.. 6. Wannabe Micromanagers. 7. Managers hired straight out of collage with 0 work experiance who try to tell ppl with 20+ retail experiance how to do their jobs. 8. 0 communication and that is about anything.. if your co worker from your dept. Calls sick that day , you are not told but have to ask yourself when you see that they are not there.. 9. Dress code is a joke. Mr.VonMaur is stuck in the 80s.
