Pros

Vons has very good work life balance and isn't a tough job to do, but if you care too much about your position the people around you will stress you out. Job security is nice since they can't fire a good worker. You meet a wide variety of people both good and bad. Some jobs are really laid back just talk to you manager about switching around until you find your niche. Don't let them find it for you.

Cons

Management is terrible at least at 1734. They have absolutely 0 leadership experience outside of the sub-par management and supervisor training that they give you. The people stress out about their jobs because of management and it causes toxicity to arise between co-workers since nobody wants to believe they are the cause of the problems. They work you like a racehorse but tell you that its not good enough constantly. If you've got thick skin have at it, otherwise you will hate yourself for working here. They are sketchy will your time clocks and schedule if they don't like you. Favoritism runs deep and if they don't like you keep an eye out for schedule changes. They will write you up for anything if they don't like you but if you stick with the union and don't break any major rules they can't fire you.

Pros

Excellent, straightforward, comprehensive training program and learning modules to ramp up quickly. Management was reasonable and attentive. It was welcoming and I felt respected, and gave my all as a result. They also make sure people don't stay longer or go without a break after the 5-hour mark; this is a California statute with which I was unfamiliar (I was guilty of working long hours without a lunch break in CT due to

Cons

This likely comes with the territory, but a significant percentage of the target customer demographic are of the needlessly disrespectful, uncivil, infantile, entitled, and rich variety. They contrive conflict and attempt to pin it on the workers, or needlessly change their order after it has been obtained. It is child's play. Company policy says to never call the police unless they are a threat to safety, but they absolutely do disturb the peace and ruin the experience for others. It doesn't help that there is an expensive (not necessarily upscale in terms of class) drinking establishment in the same plaza.
