Pros

There is a great culture here where I would consider this a 2nd family with how we take care of each other. You are surrounded by the best of the best and are free to shadow or learn more. The benefits are great also. You are given everything you need to be successful at your job without being micro managed to death. They hold you accountable as an adult which goes a long way.

Cons

The pay could be a lot better regarding promotions and moving to other positions internally. Since they do not have a set path for Technical Support after Level 2, it is easy to become stagnant and lose interest in the job. This drives an increase of employees leaving the company for opportunities to grow elsewhere. It can be 'clickish' at times but for the most part everyone is cool.

Pros

Lots of support from management. I always felt like I was heard. Plenty of support from my teammates. The CEO is an amazing person.

Cons

Customers only reach out because there are issues with their sites; causing them to be upset most of the time. Tough job if you are not used to remote work.

We appreciate you taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. While we're glad you had an overall positive experience in regards to feeling supported by your manager, teammates, and feel Heather, our CEO is an amazing person. We agree! We are sorry to hear you didn't feel like there were opportunities for promotions. We know you no longer work here at WP Engine, but if you have any other thoughts you'd like to share so that we can learn more about what could've gone better, you're welcome to reach out to anybody on our Employee Experience Team to do so. Thank you again and we wish you the best in future endeavors.

Pros

Remote. Great people. Decent benefits. Nice work/life balance.

Cons

Subpar pay. Lack of career growth and stability. Upper management and leadership are heavily disconnected from the core product. They want to "AI" their core platform just because everybody else is doing it but they have no clear direction / solution that makes sense. They sign contracts for services that they don't vet fully and cause headaches for tech support. They mask "reorgs" with surprise layoffs.

We appreciate your candid feedback, and the time you took to leave a review. We're glad to hear you had a positive experience with colleagues, our remote-first culture, work-life balance, and benefits. Those are all important parts of the employee experience, and we're pleased they stood out. We're also appreciate your view on where you feel we fell short. Feedback about compensation, career growth, leadership connection, and organizational change are meaningful, even when they're difficult to hear. While we can't comment on specific business decisions, we appreciate your perspective. Thank you again for telling us about your experience at WP Engine.
