Pros

- Great benefits (401k match, generous time off, competitive pay, incredible insurance options) - Wonderful colleagues - Engaging work - Leadership is incredibly compassionate and kind. All the way from direct manager to the CEO. It is very clear that the leadership puts in a great deal of effort to be understanding and empathetic at any turn. - The amount of agency that engineers get is also very encouraging. The company clearly trusts their teams to get the job done.

Cons

- Due to the scale of the business, and even on the organizations within the company, it can sometimes feel like the long term direction is unclear, but teams all tend to have their own individual short term goals. - In its current state, on-call for Production Engineering can very quickly become overwhelming.

We're super appreciative that you took the time to share about your time at WP Engine, this information helps guide our continued growth and success. It's wonderful to hear you felt supported and inspired by our leadership, as we have have been very intentional about fostering an open and inclusive culture where our leaders are committed to the growth and success of everyone on their teams. We're also very proud of the perks and benefits we offer our employees, we believe investing in our people and giving them peace of mind when it comes to benefits is the right thing to do. We've worked really hard the last few years to create a clear and transparent strategic plan that gives our people a real sense of direction, but we have had to pivot in response to economic realities to ensure we're still providing a great product and value to our customers. It's also important to note that demand for production engineering has gone up across the board. Having recognized the need we made our own investments in that area. We feel confident that our plan for 2024 should allow everyone at WP Engine to understand where we're headed as a company and provide that sense of direction going forward. Thank you once again for sharing your feedback and for your contributions to WP Engine, we wish you the best in future endeavors.

Pros

Lots of support from management. I always felt like I was heard. Plenty of support from my teammates. The CEO is an amazing person.

Cons

Customers only reach out because there are issues with their sites; causing them to be upset most of the time. Tough job if you are not used to remote work.

Pros

Remote. Great people. Decent benefits. Nice work/life balance.

Cons

Subpar pay. Lack of career growth and stability. Upper management and leadership are heavily disconnected from the core product. They want to "AI" their core platform just because everybody else is doing it but they have no clear direction / solution that makes sense. They sign contracts for services that they don't vet fully and cause headaches for tech support. They mask "reorgs" with surprise layoffs.
