Pros

The pay is alright, and it is nice that that the company is growing so the stores are becoming closer and closer to everyone. Both my store manager and district manager are nice hard working guys, so that makes work a little easier. My favorite thing about working for Walgreens was the overtime, but corporate just did away with that. My coworkers are fun and make work go by fast most of the time. All of the mgt's at my store look out for each other when it comes to covering shifts and stuff of that nature. Upward mobility seems possible, which is why im still with them after 18 months.

Cons

the hours are kinda rough, retail hours can have you working til 11 one night, only to be back in the store at 7am. the 90 year old customers that frequent the store are annoying as hell, but i guess that is common for retail. Resets are a pain, and are given to us way to frequently. checking in vendors is also a pain, b/c none of them even make an effort to put their products up right, or in a timely fashion. I also hate giving refunds to people who over half the time dont even have their receipt.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
