Pros

Awesome profit sharing plan. They have 7000 plus stores so you can pretty much work anywhere in the country. Good job for a college student or just out of college that wants to gain experience in a retail environment. Decent pay compared to other retailers. Meeting and getting to know customers and forming a bond with the employees.

Cons

Never been with a company with cliques like Walgreens. Promotions based on who you know/friends than on actual work. Open door policy is a joke. Cut backs. If they cut any more hours, there would no one at the store. Pharmacy is the bread and butter of the company yet they cut hours in pharmacy and throughout the store constantly. The company has completely abandoned it's values like the 4 way test and truly helping customers all in the name of making a buck. Corporate greed is apparent. Customers are just sales and that's it. Pushing flu shots like its candy to everyone is not my idea of customer service. Even with all the cutbacks, restructuring store employees (MGT to STL what the hell is that?), reduced benefits (Insurance), the company's stock price is still tanking. With a low stock price all that does is create more cutbacks which in turn lowers morale and customer service, which in turn lowers sales and stock price. It's a vicious cycle that repeats itself. Absolutely no work life balance! A 40 hour work week feels like 60 hours because of the schedule. Work all holidays, closing mostly every night and opening a few days. Want to spend time with the family? Too bad you gotta work. Wanna watch the game on SundaY? Sorry. Wanna eat Thanksgiving and Christmas with your kids? Nope. You work mostly every weekend and you get random days off during the week when normal people work so you still have no life.

Pros

The management is accommodating and doesn't ask of to much.

Cons

At one point the heat was out during the winter, but i'll say that this was only for about a week.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
