Pros

- pretty flexible on hours - pay is good where I live ($17/hr where minimum wage is $13) - willing to work with accommodations - regulars that will make your life easy -if you have a good store manager then you have someone who has your back, is willing to work with you on your schedule, and doesn't expect you to go the extra mile without going it themselves - most of the job isn't really difficult

Cons

- part-time hours will screw up your sleep schedule (switching between opening, mid-shift, and closing) and you'll never know what day of the week you have off but will probably have to work at least one day of the weekend - if you're only part-time you might have trouble making ends meet - exhausting, it's customer service + other duties - you'll likely have to work the register, stock, handle calls, and manage the photo department all at once with maybe just a manger working the floor, you'll be lucky if they staff enough for there to be two team members, can be very stressful during rushes, may also have to do chores like trash/clean bathrooms - entitled old people and couponers who will yell at you because they didn't get their $2 off, didn't read a sign correctly, or found something in the wrong spot - if you have a bad store manager you're going to have a bad time - hours and staffing will depend on how well your store is doing, if you have multiple in the area then you can switch stores or pull shifts at another store - managers seem overworked, 2-3 managers needed per day so if there's only 3-4 managers hired and something happen to 1-2 they seem to get screwed over pulling extra hours - computer system is awful, registers constantly lagging and freezing

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
