You're Gunna Go Far, Kid (at Walmart!) - Modular Team Walmart Employee Review

Pros

I was given achievable goals and an adequate amount of time to reach them. In turn, I was able to challenge myself to go beyond what was expected. I was never pushed to do more than I could manage. This made me confident in myself and my work. At Walmart, I felt that no matter how small my "cog in the machine" was my work mattered just as much as the head of the establishment.

Cons

As a member of the Modular Team, our primary role was to make changes. In some instances, it was neccessary for us to have to think on our feet, making adjustments to prior plans. I found the challenge fun and rewarding although at times, the sudden pressure of completing an additional high priority task nearing the end of a shift could really throw a wrench in the perfectly timed task already in progress. It would change a previously fun challenge into a stressed situation. I've seen where is hurt the progress and morale of the team.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
